What kinds of rats are common in the Phoenix area?

Roof rats are the most common rat species in the Phoenix metro. They are agile climbers that nest in attics, palm trees, and block walls. Pack rats (woodrats) are also common in desert-adjacent neighborhoods. Norway rats are less common but found near commercial areas and water sources.

How do I know if I have rats?

Common signs include droppings (larger than mouse droppings), gnaw marks on wiring or wood, scratching or scurrying sounds in the attic or walls at night, grease rub marks along walls, and nesting material in attics or garages.

How long does rat control take?

Most programs show significant activity reduction within 2–4 weeks. The timeline depends on the severity of the infestation and how quickly rats encounter the traps and stations. Follow-up visits are an important part of the process.

Do you service commercial properties?

Yes. Elite Pest provides rat control for restaurants, warehouses, retail spaces, and multi-unit properties across the Phoenix metro. Call (833) 944-7378 to discuss a commercial program.

Rats are more than a nuisance — they chew wiring, contaminate food, and can spread disease. Roof rats are especially common in the Phoenix metro, nesting in attics, palm trees, and block walls. Elite Pest uses a combination of inspection, snap traps, and tamper-resistant bait stations to reduce rat activity and protect your home.

What Our Rat Control Service Includes

Inspection

We inspect interior and exterior areas for rat activity, droppings, gnaw marks, travel paths, and nesting sites — including attics, garages, and block walls.

Bait Station Placement

Tamper-resistant bait stations are placed in strategic locations. All bait is applied by licensed technicians according to the label.
